Jackson is a quaint hotel in à backwater of New Hampshire. You have to like hiking (although you need to drive to the hiking spots) or cycling trails (although they are also not readily accessible but the bikes are). The hotel is surprisingly large for such a place and it is possibly a fulcrum for locals who want to go to a bar. Weddings are also common. The rooms are comfortable although we were on the second floor with no lift which was a challenge with luggage. Housekeeping is not good - no sheet change or bed made in 4 days and bins not emptied - attendance consisted in asking if we wanted towels only. Dinner is OK but the menu did not change at all over 4 days which means that we tried everything once. The whole experience leaves me unable to endorse or otherwise this hotel but in Jackson it is here or sleeping under the stars.

We stayed here for two nights mid week during our " Fall" trip. We had a superiour room in the main inn. The room was large with 2 double beds. Views across a field. Very quiet. Couldnt hear any traffic. Breakfast was included in the price and could choose from the buffet and something hot. certainly filled us up for the day. Also had dinner there too. Very pleasant evening and the staff were good. Although they did struggle with the English accent a little bit. Had to kep repeating myslf- but thats no way a complaint! all in all a very nice stay.

Everything was delightful at our recent stay at the Wentworth. The room was spacious, immaculate and beautifully decorated. The breakfasts (thank you Jean for outstanding service!) were the best we have had anywhere!! Even the piped in music was great. A special thank you to Diana who helped us find the perfect room. She has amazing customer service skills and a warm welcoming attitude and smile. We can't wait to return.

We had stayed in the Jackson are in 2006 thus we knew a little about the area and thought we knew about the hotels. This was a very disappointing expierence for us and I have to admit it's partially my fault. I reserved a standard room (first mistake) that came with breakfast and dinner. The room was in an adjacent building across the road from the main building. The room was in very bad need of mainteance and repairs. (Not complaining to managment was my second mistake). We went ahead and accepted a room that could not possibly qualify as a 3 star/diamond room. Closer to a 1-2 star/diamond. The bathroom was very much in need of repair and paint. At one time someone installed wallboard type tile around the bathtub and frankly they didn't do too a job. The wiring for the window air conditioner was plugged into an extension cord. Would never pass building code. There was wiring that ran under the carpet in the closet and then up the wall. Very dangerous in our judgement. The front door was badly in need of paint and refurbishing , as was the sitting porch. A good cleaning woudl ahev helped soem but thsat would not have helped the pooir maintaeance. Dinenr was good however we expeced a four star meal and dinenr was not close to being four star. I then remembered I was in jackson and not New York City, so perhaps it was a good meal. Please keep in mind , I take the responsibilty for not complaining to manangment. I feel there are many other rooms in this hotel that are very nice. The pictures on the web site look very good. I opted for a standard room. Take my advise and don't do that. Ask a few more questions than I did, complain if necessary and above all start with an upgrade over a standard room.

We've been coming to the Wentworth for over 20 years so we've seen a lot of changes both good and bad. 20 years ago, a stay included hot breakfast and a buffet that had fresh fruit, muffins, juice, cereal, etc. and a 5 course dinner. Over the years, the 5 course dinner became 4 courses then 3 courses. Five courses was a lot of food so we didn't mind the number of courses being decreased but the food quality declined as well. Covid hit and really hurt this business and it was sold to a hospitality company a few years ago. With the sale, changes came both good and bad. I'll try to detail them as much as possible. I'm happy to say that in our recent 2025 visit, the food quality has improved and the meals were fantastic. If you get the meal package, you get a full hot breakfast with your choice of sides and a 4 course dinner, which includes 2 starters, a main course and dessert. We were very happy with the food quality. Service was a little slow but the waiters were fantastic. They no longer serve breakfast out on the patio, which was a bit of a disappointment but I understand because it's hard to find enough wait staff to offer service both inside and out. Also, you could order a bag lunch in the past and pick it up at the front desk but that service is no longer available but there is a deli right next door called J-Town Deli that is very good if you are looking for lunch. The room decor has changed a lot. It's not exactly our taste but it's a clean, modern design. Some amenities have been removed like the desk, Kurig and coffee table. While this makes the room look more spacious, it is less usable. My wife liked putting her makeup on at the desk and we liked the coffee table for sitting and having apps and a beverage. We were looking for a place to charge phones and all the wall outlets near the bed were used but then we discovered that the nightstands had outlets built-in, which was fabulous! They are easy to miss because the furniture is dark as are the outlets but they are there so be sure you don't miss them. While the bedroom furniture has all been replaced, the bathroom definitely needs a refresh. There are broken tiles in the bathroom near the whirlpool tub, paint is chipping on the walls, the fixtures are getting old and don't match the new decor of the room. Lighting was dim overall, although the nightstands had nice bright lights on the wall above them. Bathroom lighting was plentiful but the lights at the the sink and mirror were dim in my opinion. Hopefully, the room is a work in progress and this will improve over time. The pool area is very nice and new lounge chairs, tables and upright chairs were installed during our stay. The new lounge chairs aren't as nice as those they replaced but they are mesh so they don't hold water like a sponge as the old cushions did. Their are chairs and small tables all around the farmers porches but they aren't kept clean. The grounds people should pressure wash them regula

Our king suite was outstanding! The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The extra large TV was impressive. The staff members go out of their way to be accommodating and pleasant. I would recommend purchasing the package that includes breakfast. Breakfast in the dining room includes the most delicious homemade granola with vanilla yogurt, fresh fruit and pastries. We also ordered the Belgium waffle from the menu- Best we’ve ever had!

Amazing property, beautiful location and helpful and friendly staff. The amenities are second to none and the restaurant menu was to die for. The location along the Wildcat river and walking trails made it easy to enjoy a peaceful escape from the craziness of the world.

The good: Beautiful common area and Alpine lounge bar area (when open). Breakfast was excellent both in food quality and service. The pantry area for drinks and snacks on each floor was a nice touch. The queen bed and pillows in the room were very comfortable. The not so good: We came back from hiking and planned to have drinks and dinner at the bar. They decided to refinish the bar during the day and closed the bar for the evening. Zero prior notification to guests and no reduction of the “resort fee “ off the bill. The bathroom in the room was in need of a major renovation. Parking for the Main Inn is limited. We had to park in the dirt area across the road by river. Unfortunately my car ended up with a notification dent that no one reported. Not the Inn’s fault but a real bummer. Check-out took 20 minutes plus due to the inability of the front desk lady to deduct a New England Inn’s gift card (which was provided at check-in two days earlier).
